UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUPS
"How will we reach them for Christ?"

This prayer often fills our hearts as we live among the people of Freedom and Watsonville, California.
​
Freedom, a small city of about 4,000 people, is nestled within Watsonville, a town of nearly 53,000. The community is 80-90% Hispanic, made up largely of hardworking migrant farming families. The Lord has placed a deep burden on our hearts to love them and share the gospel of Christ.

​Since our arrival, we have been learning about the community and its needs. Every day, we pray for opportunities to share Jesus in homes, and it has been a joy to see God answer—opening doors to love and serve the people here.
​
Migrant families face many hardships. Parents—and often their children—work long hours in the fields, often ten hours a day, six days a week, yet many still struggle to make ends meet.
​
It is humbling and exciting to see how the Lord is using Freedom Teams. Just a few years ago, we were unaware that 176 unreached people groups live in North America. Now, we are serving among them. The needs of our community are great, but God is greater.
TEENS & COLLEGE
The Lord has opened many doors to reach the youth in our community. The Freedom Center is open throughout the week, providing a welcoming space for students to visit during lunch and at various times of the day.

We’ve also been blessed with opportunities to share at youth events, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, allowing us to connect with high school students and encourage them in their faith.
​
Recently, Freedom Teams launched a new ministry called "The Outlet", created to strengthen and encourage young believers in our community.
KIDS
Good News
Club
We currently host two Good News Club locations—one in a local school and another in a backyard, reaching children with the gospel in both settings.
Freedom Bible Camp
Each summer, we host Freedom Bible Camp, a children's camp held at two different parks in Watsonville. The camp runs Monday through Friday for one week, providing a fun and engaging environment where kids can learn about Christ.
Sunday School
Each Sunday, we serve in the children's ministry at The Freedom Center, which is led by Freedom Bible Fellowship, providing a place for kids to grow in their faith and knowledge of Christ.
